Dove and Pigeon, what's the different?

"Dove" as I know, usually used in brand name.

昨天去了東勢林場看到小朋友餵鴿子，
不禁想到英文中，

鴿子究竟是Dove or Pigeon?
似乎都有人用，不過Dove比較常出現在品牌名。
